Several Flyers youngins were active and productive in Canadian Hockey League playoff action, while both teams in the pipeline split weekend games. How did tomorrow's Flyers fare? Check back, naturally, after the jump.
The Flyers finished off a four-game home stand with a decisive 4-1 win over the St. Louis Blues at the Spectrum. Goals by Andre Dupont, Orest Kindrachuk, Rick MacLeish and Bill Clement were more than enough offense in front of All-Star goalie Bernie Parent.
This win, their 45th of the season, along with 11 ties, gave the Flyers points No. 100 and 101 on the season. This was the first time in franchise history that the Flyers cracked the 100-point mark.
Despite another great performance by goalie Steve Mason, the Flyers lost a tough one on Saturday afternoon to the San Jose Sharks, 3-2, in a shootout at Wells Fargo Center.
The Flyers were without defenseman Mark Streit and Carlo Colaiacovo, who were scratched due to the flu. Defenseman Brandon Manning and Mark Alt were called up from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms to step in this afternoon. With the Flyers scheduled promotion being "Kid's Day," calling up a couple of the kids from the Phantoms seemed fitting.
