Past the first quarter of the road trip, the Flyers aren't just off to a good start. They are working on an excellent road trip as a whole.
The trip will meet its halfway point on Saturday and carry on for another week. By the time the Flyers return home, the standings could look very different.
For the Flyers to start to make their visions of being a playoff team more of a realistic possibility, they needed to deliver on the road trip in a huge way. They needed something close to 12 points, which would require points in at least six of the eight games. In just three games, the Flyers have six points in the standings - including Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Wild - against three of the tougher teams they will face.
